Amazing video mosaic choreography
It’s not often that a flash game impresses me this much. The gameplay is based on the idea that whatever is shrouded in darkness and unobserved is void and nonexistent. Only when you shine light on it (provided by the portable orbs) do they materialize and have substance. It has a deeper story to it, but I’ll just let you discover that yourself.
This is just awesome. Mashup of youtube videos.
No need to talk more, just go check it out.
Thanks to xkcd I have now learned of the existence of Simple English Wikipedia . This is is awesome. I’ve just spent the past thirty minutes or so looking over random scientific things. I feel smart. It’s either that or science feels dumb. I feel like I’m in primary school again.
Anywho, skim over this article on the Higgs Boson and then read over this simplified explanation of the same
Man, science is easy!
This is one of the best things to search for on youtube: “Classic Hits by Microsoft Songsmith”
Okay, so a bit of background. Microsoft Songsmith is a piece of software that will generate music when given a vocal track to work with. Instead of mumbling on about that, I’ll just show you some of my favorite youtube videos of what happens when you input the vocal tracks from popular songs.
This is my favorite one:
Billy Idol – White Wedding
Radiohead – Creep
The Cars – Just What I Needed
Survivor – Eye of the Tiger
Oasis – Wonderwall
Rush – Tom Sawyer
Eagles – Hotel California
Michael Jack – Beat It
It’s a new piece I made to be a wallpaper in my Ubuntu box. I’m using the Dark theme that came with Intrepid Ibex, so I decided to make a wallpaper that fits the infamous Ubuntu brown theme. I feel it kinda mirrors the Ubuntu philosophy of humanity coming together. We took the picture for something else, but I felt the hand-holding was a bit reminiscent of the Ubuntu logo. As for the title, it’s about keeping together and keeping strong even when faced with adversity.
Here is the wallpaper . [1680×1050 :: 2.7mb]
I’m changing the site design slightly, as you can see. The overall idea isn’t being changed, just a few aesthetic decision that I thought would make it easier on the eyes and promote focus on the content more. One thing I’m doing is using the new border-radius property added in CSS3, it only works in Firefox3 and Webkit based browsers so far, I believe, but it’s looking good, I think. I’ve only made CSS changes so far, the only planned change that involves an image is a new header banner.
As I’m running Windows 7 Beta, I haven’t installed Photoshop or Illustrator, so while a new header image might be on the way (I have a few ideas) it won’t be up for a bit. Though I do say it doesn’t look too bad without.
Also, mouse over the header title up there. Checkitoutyo!
